Assurance has become the proving ground for agentic AI in telecoms. As operators push toward Level 4 autonomous operations, agentic systems promise networks that reason across data sources, diagnose faults, and orchestrate remediation at a scale no human team can sustain. However, a wide chasm separates early pilots from agentic systems that can run reliably at scale, and closing it demands more than a capable model. It requires a full autonomy architecture, spanning data, knowledge, and agent layers, together with the operational discipline needed to keep autonomous decisions safe, auditable, and within defined limits.

Drawing on direct interviews with 14 leading network equipment providers, OSS vendors, and specialist assurance ISVs, including Amdocs, Cisco, Ericsson, Huawei, and Nokia, this report maps four distinct strategies vendors are pursuing to own the agentic assurance stack, and shows how those strategies align with three operator archetypes: pragmatic, outsourced, and do-it-yourself. The result is a clear-eyed view of where the market stands today, where the competitive fault lines are forming, and what both vendors and operators should do next to close the gap between pilot and production.
