Impact Report

We are committed to doing good and measuring our impact to do better

We Commit to Giving at least 10% of Profits & 1% of Our Time to Charity

When Cambridge MC was founded in 2015, giving back was written into its structure — not as a policy, but as our purpose. Our first  Impact Report is our summary of what that commitment looks like in practice.

Impact in Numbers

£0

Donated directly to charitable causes in 2025 alone — representing more than 10% of annual profits.

£0

Our Impact in 2025

In 2025, we donated over £200,000 to charitable causes and gave 290 volunteer days across the business. That combination of money and time represents £600,000 in combined value. Whether it funded a British Exploring Society expedition for a young person who has never slept in a tent, helped preserve a threatened coastline, or helped put  operational ambulances on Ukrainian roads, the principle of the contributions of our team is the same: if we have the ability to help, we should and will.

This is also the year we passed a historic milestone. Since Tim Passingham founded Cambridge MC in 2015, the business has now donated and pledged £1 million to charity – a figure that reflects a decade of deliberate, consistent action rather than a single gesture.

We try to exceed our giving targets every year. We also hold 1% of our equity for charitable use should an equity event occur. This is how we hold fast to our purpose and inspire good across our network of colleagues, clients, and partners.

"Despite the many things to celebrate in this report, we must also accept that the world around us is facing unprecedented challenges. This makes both doing good and doing good business much harder, but also more important than ever. 'Impact' can't be just a nice slogan. It has to exist in hearts and minds, and it must also be something concrete that we measure."

Tim Passingham, Founder and Chairman of Cambridge MC

Our Five Cs

We have five focus areas for our charitable work and donations to increase our impact.

Conservation

Stewardship of natural systems — because long-term prosperity depends on resilient ecosystems as much as resilient economies. We back rewilding, coastal preservation, and net-zero delivery through our sister company, edenseven.

Children

Better futures are built early. We support programmes that widen opportunity, build confidence, and give young people access to education, mentoring, and life-changing experiences that might otherwise be out of reach.

Cambridge

Cambridge is not just part of our name – it is part of our identity. We support the city's business, academic, and community life through our partnership with Pembroke College, the #21toWatch innovation programme, and local initiatives.

Communications

Access to information and connectivity is infrastructure, not a luxury. We use our expertise pro bono where better communications can directly improve lives – in remote communities, developing nations, and underserved territories.

Cancer

Cancer touches countless families, colleagues, and communities. Our support is both practical and personal – backing research, care organisations, and fundraising that recognises the impact extends far beyond treatment alone.

The complete report covers all 18 charities we supported in 2024–25, the full story behind our island connectivity programmes, our carbon reduction progress, the edenseven FTSE250 Climate Report findings, intern profiles, and the thinking behind our Five Cs framework.

It is also the honest account of a business that believes the obligation to do good and the ambition to do well are not in tension — they are the same thing.

edenseven: Sustainability in Action

2,135

Sites under management in cero.earth, edenseven's carbon accounting platform.

3.8Mt

Tonnes of carbon under active management per annum.

£2.3bn

In assets and procurement being managed through the platform annually.

edenseven's annual FTSE250 Climate Report found that 131 companies collectively reported 295 million tonnes of CO₂e in 2024 – roughly 35% of the entire global aviation sector's footprint — yet operational emissions intensity has remained almost flat over three years. Despite 58% of companies setting operational net-zero targets, only 30% have SBTi-validated short-term targets. edenseven's honest analysis of the gap between pledges and delivery has received widespread interest across the sustainability sector.

edenseven is also part of a £2.75m Innovate UK-funded consortium with Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council – delivering PANZ (Peterborough Accelerated Net Zero), a scalable data-led model that helps local authorities prioritise high-impact interventions, unlock investment, and build a green skills market. Cambridge MC's net-zero target for scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions is set for 2040, with a 50% reduction interim target on a revenue basis by 2030.

Reducing Our Footprint

Cambridge MC has set a Net Zero carbon target for scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2040, with an interim target to reduce relative emissions by 50% on a revenue basis by 2030. We project total emissions will decrease from our 2023 baseline to 98.49 tCO₂e across all scopes by 2028 — a 36% reduction.

In 2025 we made significant strides in carbon reduction across the business. Our current emissions profile is dominated by travel and purchases — areas where client-facing work creates an unavoidable baseline — but we are actively managing both.
