Dr Caroline Burt

Higher Education Strategy & Operations

Caroline has worked in business, and, for the last 20 years, in higher education. Much of that time has been spent in senior managerial roles in which Caroline’s vision, insight, and intelligence have enabled her to make transformative change. She is known as a collaborative leader and team player who quickly gets to the heart of issues.

Caroline has championed a data-driven approach to admissions work at the University of Cambridge and has spent many years on the University’s admissions research group, whose work has influenced not only university selection but business selection too. She has also held government-appointed positions on the boards of both a national qualifications regulator (Qualifications Wales), and a public sector pay and conditions review body. At Qualifications Wales, she was a member of Regulation and ARAC committees and chaired the Remuneration Committee where she made reforms to the CEO succession plan and the Board Chair’s appraisal process. She also has executive education and experience in mentoring and leadership.

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling with her husband, reading, playing sport (she is a novice golfer), and evaluating chocolate.
